Can you share a little about your background and what led you to start your business?
After nearly 20 years in the corporate world of accounting and finance, I felt my entrepreneurial spirit nudging me to build something of my own. Like many businesses, mine didn’t begin in a straight line. I started with a concierge-style company and an unofficial motto: “If it’s legal and you’ll pay me, I’ll do it.” That evolved into a brick-and-mortar cleaning and organizing business with a team of employees, serving clients hands-on for the next two decades.
Forty years into my professional career, I made an intentional pivot from on-site professional organizer to virtual coach and educator. I discovered that my greatest impact isn’t just clearing clutter; it’s helping women especially those 55 and older navigating retirement, downsizing, loss, or an empty nest understand themselves and build habits so clutter doesn’t creep back. Now I work with clients around the world, guiding them step-by-step as they create calm, peaceful homes that truly support who they are today. And honestly? It feels like the most meaningful chapter yet.
What inspired you to get into this industry?
I believe the sweet spot in any career is where passion and gifting intersect. By nature, I’m organized and analytical. By experience, I’ve worked with people in many different seasons of life and developed the ability to guide them toward what’s truly right for them, not what I think their answer should be. What inspired me to enter this industry is the transformation I witness when someone realizes there is a way forward. So often, women feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to begin. I love helping them see solutions where they thought none existed and walking beside them as they reclaim calm, clarity, and confidence in their own homes. Guiding and cheering people on isn’t just part of my work . . . it’s what I’m built to do.
What was the moment you realized, “This is what I’m meant to do”?
Before I ever organized professionally, I often helped friends and family declutter and bring order to their homes. At first, it just felt natural to me–a way to help people who meant something to me. I have always been organized and solution-oriented. But what truly caught my attention was not just the tidy pantry or the cleared counters. It was the shift in the people themselves.
I watched stress levels drop. I saw relationships improve. I noticed women gain confidence in managing their time and finances because they could finally see what they had and where things belonged. The transformation was not just about how a home looked. It affected how they felt and how they lived. That was the moment I realized this was more than a skill. It was a gift that created real change in people’s lives. I knew then that I wanted to devote my work to helping others experience that same freedom and peace.
What were you struggling with before reaching out to the Manifest Team?
Deciding to offer my organizing services virtually was only the first step in launching this new chapter of my business. What I quickly realized was that I needed a website that clearly communicated not just what I do, but how I do it and why it matters. I needed people to understand that virtual organizing is personal, effective, and transformational.
I was struggling with how to present that in a way that felt authentic to me. I did not want something bland that people would click past, but I also did not want something overly slick or overproduced that did not reflect who I am. The Manifest Team took the time to ask thoughtful questions about both my business and my personality. Because of that, they created a website that truly captures my voice, my heart, and the impact of my work.
How did your old website (or lack of one) hold you back?
My old website was informational, but it lacked connection. It explained my onsite organizing services, but it did not help the reader see themselves in the story or recognize their need for guidance and support. It did not fully reflect who I am, how I work, or the deeper transformation my clients experience.
It also was not positioned to reach a broader audience. As I shifted to a virtual model, I needed a platform that could carry a more refined and focused message while expanding my reach beyond my local community. The old site served its purpose for a season, but it was clear I had outgrown it. I needed a website that matched the evolution of my business and the impact I am now positioned to make.

What emotions came up during the transformation process?
As a professional organizer, I am very comfortable leading clients through a clear process. We identify goals, decide where to begin, create a plan, and take action. That structure feels natural to me inside someone’s home. But when it came to designing a website, I was completely outside my comfort zone. I did not know where to start or what the right sequence should be, and that brought up real nervousness. What surprised me was how quickly that uncertainty disappeared. Elaine clearly outlined the process from the very beginning and confidently led the way. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, I felt supported. I was able to simply show up as myself, answer thoughtful questions, and trust the Manifest Team to guide the transformation. It turned what could have felt intimidating into something smooth, collaborative, and even enjoyable.
What do you feel your website communicates about you now?
My website now clearly communicates both my brand and who I am at the core. The colors, fonts, and overall style that the Manifest Team helped me choose reflect peace, confidence, and hope, which are exactly the emotions I want my clients to experience when they work with me. More importantly, the messaging feels authentic. It speaks directly to the women I serve and helps them see that they are not alone or stuck. The site no longer just explains my services. It communicates the transformation. When someone lands there, I believe they can sense both the professionalism and the heart behind my work.
What has been your proudest moment in business?
I don’t have one single proudest moment. I have proudest moments that repeat over and over again. A woman comes to me after trying to declutter on her own, sometimes for years. She has made attempts, gotten overwhelmed, stopped, and often feels worse than when she started. By the time she reaches out, she is not just frustrated with her home. She doubts herself. As I guide her through my process, keep her accountable, and cheer her on, I begin to see the shift. The resistance softens. The self-criticism quiets. She starts to gain clarity, and often, confidence she has not felt in a very long time. The decluttering becomes easier because she is no longer fighting herself. My proudest moments are those light bulb realizations when she says, “Maybe this can work for me.” Watching her believe in herself again is the greatest reward of my work.
What’s one obstacle you overcame that shaped you into the entrepreneur you are today?
I have been fortunate to have strong support around me, from fellow professional organizers to administrative and creative partners. The biggest obstacle I have faced is not a single dramatic event, but an ongoing reality that every entrepreneur understands. Time. There are always more ideas to develop, systems to improve, and ways to grow than there are hours in a day. Learning to manage that tension has shaped me deeply. Because so much of my work involves helping clients prioritize, balance competing demands, and be realistic about what they can accomplish, I am constantly practicing what I teach. I have learned to slow down, breathe deeply, and focus on what can be done today rather than trying to finish everything at once. Remembering that I am building something for the long haul, not overnight success, has helped me grow into a more focused, steady, and sustainable entrepreneur.
What is a breakthrough moment in your business that you’re most proud of?
When I decided to pivot from onsite organizing to virtual organizing, I assumed it would work. I had decades of experience decluttering homes, understanding the psychology behind clutter, and guiding clients through lasting change. I built the structure, created the systems, and learned how to share my message online. Then one day, several months into this new chapter, I had a sudden realization. I had never actually decluttered a home via Zoom. I remember that sharp, breath-catching moment of thinking, “What if this doesn’t work the way I believe it will?” Instead of letting doubt linger, I tested it. I asked friends and family to let me walk them through sessions virtually. What I discovered was incredibly affirming. My years of experience allowed me to recognize patterns quickly, ask the right questions, and guide decisions just as effectively through a screen as I could in person. I could “see” what was happening beyond the camera because I understood how clutter forms and how people think. That confirmation was a breakthrough for me. It proved that my impact was not tied to geography. It gave me the confidence to fully step into the virtual space and expand the reach of my work.
What positive changes have you noticed in your business since launching your new website?
One of the most encouraging changes I have noticed since launching my new website is how clearly people understand my work before they ever speak with me. Prospective clients reference specific language, concepts, and ideas from the site when they reach out. That tells me they are not just landing there. They are reading, connecting, and seeing themselves in the message. The website is doing what it should do. It is educating, qualifying, and building trust before the first conversation even happens. Instead of starting from scratch, I am often speaking with women who already understand my approach and feel aligned with it. That has made my inquiries more focused, my conversations more productive, and my business feel more intentional overall.
Since launching your website, what monetary wins or financial results have you experienced?
Before launching my new website, clients would reach out, and I would manually walk them through the enrollment and payment process. They would verbally confirm their interest and provide credit card information directly to me. It worked, but it required extra steps and time on both sides. Now, clients can clearly see my three membership options, choose the one that fits their needs, and complete their enrollment and payment entirely online. That streamlined process has made it easier for clients to say yes and easier for me to manage growth. It has created a more professional, efficient experience and allowed my business to operate with greater consistency and scalability.
Have you noticed any changes in visibility or engagement since the launch?
Before launching the new website, most of my visibility was limited to my local community and personal network. Now, I am connecting with women from across the country and even internationally who are specifically searching for virtual organizing support. I have had prospective clients mention that they found me online, explored my website, and felt connected to my message before ever reaching out. That broader visibility has expanded my reach beyond geography and positioned my business as accessible to anyone who resonates with my approach. It has shifted me from being locally known to globally available.
What type of client do you think would benefit most from working with us, and why?
The client who benefits most from working with me is a woman 55 or older who is navigating a life transition and feeling overwhelmed by the state of her home. She may be facing retirement, an empty nest, downsizing, or loss. When she looks around, she feels shame about the clutter, guilt when she leaves the house because she is not dealing with it, and concern about what she may eventually leave for her children to sort through. She is not lazy or incapable. She is thoughtful, intelligent, and ready for change, but she needs guidance, structure, and steady encouragement. Because I combine practical organizing systems with mindset support and accountability, I help her move beyond surface-level tidying and create lasting transformation. The women who thrive in my memberships are open to self-reflection, willing to take small consistent steps, and ready to create a home that truly supports who they are today.
Are there any other wins or successes big or small that you’ve experienced since launching your website that you’d like to share?
Beyond the measurable improvements, one of the biggest wins has been confidence. My website now feels aligned with who I am and the level of service I provide. That clarity has strengthened how I talk about my work and how I show up in conversations with potential clients. It also feels good to know that when someone visits my site, they are seeing a true reflection of my brand and my message. That alignment has brought a sense of momentum and professionalism that I did not fully experience before.
